O que a evidencia apoia
A fiestra máis estudada. Os ensaios aleatorizados xeralmente atopan que a perda de peso é comparable á restrición calórica correspondente — o mecanismo é en gran medida que unha fiestra máis curta reduce a ingesta, non que o reloxo faga algo extra. [1]
Os ensaios TREAT e similares non atoparon vantaxe sobre a simple restrición calórica, e un informou de maior perda de masa magra. O atractivo é a adherencia, non a superioridade.
A conclusión que a xente perde de vista
A través da literatura aleatorizada, os protocolos de xaxún producen perda de peso comparable á restrición continua de enerxía da mesma magnitude. Cando un ensaio iguala as calorías, o brazo de xaxún raramente gaña. Isto é informado de forma consistente e comunicado de forma consistente, porque "funciona aproximadamente tan ben como comer menos" é un mal titular.
