Dieta a tempo ristretto e 16:8
Il protocollo di digiuno più popolare ha le prove controllate meno impressionanti. Questo è importante da sapere prima di riorganizzare la tua vita attorno ad esso.
Lo studio che ha sgonfiato il 16:8
Il test più pulito della dieta a tempo ristretto ha dato a entrambi i gruppi la stessa assunzione calorica prescritta e variava solo se il pasto fosse stato confinato a una finestra [9]. Nel corso di dodici mesi, la perdita di peso è stata simile in entrambi i gruppi. Poiché le calorie erano abbinate, il design isola la finestra stessa — e la finestra ha contribuito poco.
Questo è importante perché la maggior parte degli studi positivi sulla dieta a tempo ristretto non controlla l'assunzione. Quando dici alle persone di mangiare solo tra mezzogiorno e le 20, mangiano meno. La perdita di peso è reale; attribuirla alla biologia circadiana piuttosto che all'assunzione ridotta è l'errore.

Due studi randomizzati in popolazioni cliniche sono più incoraggianti. Negli adulti con sindrome metabolica, la dieta a tempo ristretto ha migliorato gli esiti rispetto alla cura standard [7]. Negli adulti con diabete di tipo 2, ha prodotto perdita di peso in un confronto randomizzato [8]. E uno studio che combinava un approccio a basso contenuto di carboidrati con la dieta a tempo ristretto ha riportato cambiamenti nel peso e nel microbioma intestinale [6].
Una revisione sistematica della dieta a tempo ristretto combinata con l'esercizio ha trovato migliori risultati in termini di composizione corporea e metabolici rispetto a ciascuno da solo [2] — coerente con il principio generale che ciò che fai all'interno della finestra conta di più della finestra stessa.

Note pratiche
- Le finestre più precoci possono superare quelle più tarde. Vedi tempistica dei pasti — questa è la parte della storia circadiana che regge.
- La proteina è il vincolo. Due pasti rendono più difficile raggiungere un obiettivo proteico rispetto a tre. Pianificalo piuttosto che sperare.
- Caffè nero, tè e acqua non rompono nulla di rilevante. La definizione metabolica di "rompere un digiuno" che conta per la perdita di peso sono le calorie.
- Non estendere la finestra per compensare una giornata negativa. Finestre più lunghe non hanno dimostrato di aggiungere benefici, e l'aderenza è l'asset qui.
