Ayuno en días alternos: lo que muestra la evidencia
Días alternos alimentados y en ayuno o de muy baja caloria

Produce pérdida de peso en ensayos; las comparaciones más grandes no encuentran ventaja sobre la restricción diaria y un abandono notablemente mayor. [1]
La adherencia es el problema recurrente. Un protocolo que funciona en un ensayo y no en la vida no es un mejor protocolo.
El hallazgo que la gente pasa por alto
A través de la literatura aleatorizada, los protocolos de ayuno producen pérdida de peso comparable a la restricción continua de energía de la misma magnitud. Donde un ensayo equipara calorías, el brazo de ayuno rara vez gana. Esto se informa de manera consistente y se comunica de manera consistentemente insuficiente, porque "funciona aproximadamente tan bien como comer menos" es un mal titular.
Sigue siendo un resultado útil. Para algunas personas, una regla sobre cuándo comer es mucho más fácil de seguir que una regla sobre cuánto, y la adherencia es lo que realmente determina los resultados a lo largo de un año.
Otros protocolos
- Comer en un horario restringido de 16:8 — comer dentro de 8 horas, ayunar 16
